Applications Products / Compact Magnetic Circuits
An NMR measurement device requires strong and highly uniform magnetic field. The strength of the magnetic field generated is 1.2 T or more and the magnetic field uniformity within the gap is 800 ppm or less. Ultra-small 0.2mm square magnets are pasted within the magnetic circuit gap to adjust the magnetic field. These magnetic circuits are primarily produced for basic research at universities.
Miniature DRM magnetic circuits mean compact DRM magnetic circuits weighing about 10 to 100 kilograms. The strength of the magnetic field generated is 1 to 1.5 T. Because this magnetic circuit has superior magnetic field uniformity on the inner diameter side and superior magnetic field directionality and because it is low cost and maintenance free, it is used as a small-scale magnetic field generating device. Large magnetic circuits
Ultra-high vacuum, strong magnetic field Halbach magnetic circuits are magnetic circuits that generate strong magnetic fields in ultra-high vacuum. The magnetic field generated between gaps features an unusual strength of 1.5 to 2 T. In a high vacuum of 10-10 Torr or greater, not only adhesive and circuit soiling, but even gas generated by the magnet itself have great impact on the environment. Therefore, the magnet itself is plated with pure gold to hold down the generation of gas form the magnet.
Shin-Etsu Chemical is using its large MRI magnetic circuit production technology to produce small MRI circuits for basic experiments too. The strength of the magnetic field generated by the magnetic circuit in the photograph is 0.005 T (about 50 Gauss) and the magnetic field uniformity is about 100 ppm.
